The Highlander is the largest and most spacious SUV on this list. Even though it has the longest and tallest body, it is not bulky or boxy by any means. Instead, it has a sleek and athletic appearance. Inside the Highlander is a spacious and luxurious interior. The cabin comes standard with seating for eight people, but you can opt for the available captain chairs in the second row, which provides seating for seven people.
Under the hood, there is a powerful 3.5-litre V6 engine that is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and delivers 295 horsepower. There is also an available hybrid powertrain that pairs a 2.5-litre 4-cylinder engine with two electric motors and produces a combined 245 horsepower.
The Highlander also comes standard with the Safety Sense 2.5+ system which comes with a wide range of driver-assist features including automatic high beams, front-to-front risk protection, lane departure alert, and a pre-collision system with pedestrian and bicycle detection.
